SOUTHPAW UNRAVELS ALIBI!
Lefties Overcome Early Deficit To Spank the Chieftans 11-6.
Southpaw starting pitcher Pat Fondiller overcame control problems in the early
going, tossing five shutout innings after getting blasted for 6 runs in the first two
frames at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Field # 7 on Thursday night. Bailed out by a
strong team defensive effort and an explosion of hitting as the cold Southpaw bats

Southpaw Edges Plan B In Home Opener
Strong team defensive effort secures the win.
A solid pitching performance by starter Pat Fondiller backed by
superb defense resulted in a 2-1 victory on opening day for team
Southpaw Thursday night. First Basemen Mikey Palms made a
few spectacular picks as Southpaw overcame a pair of very questionable
calls made by the umpiring crew in the top of the third inning, both on
one play. First, a Plan B player appeared to be out by a step at first base
and another tagged out after rounding too far off second base. The blown
calls led to the only Plan B run of the game when their next batter singled.
The two Southpaw runs came in the bottom of the second as rookie Dennis
Eschenberg and catcher Dominique singled consecutively driving in Ancelmo
"Sumo" Huggins and Gabe Philipson respectively. Lefty Matt Roff gets the
start in game 2 on Thursday May 8th.
